ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Kylie Hitchcock Garcelon is an Australian-Canadian screenwriter, director, and producer. She was the 2019 recipient of the Artist of the Year award at the Northern Virginia International Film Festival where debut feature film, The Dog Walker, a psychological thriller, was nominated for eight awards including Best Director and Best Feature Film. It has since won Best Dramatic Feature at the 2019 New Haven International Film Festival. Kylie's career began on stage, performing in amateur Shakespeare comedies in Australia before shifting to film and television from the early 2000s in Toronto and New York. In 2015 Kylie wrote and directed 'Moral Compass' a narrative short which earned her a Best Director award at the 2016 Atlantic City Cinefest and three Best Short Film nominations. Kylie enjoys working in a variety of genres and her most recent project is writer-director on her sitcom comedy pilot, Wellness Inc. which she produced with Gladiolus Productions. Kylie is a member of the Australian Writers Guild and has recently been accepted to the Directors Guild of Canada. Since returning to Canada in 2019, Kylie has begun the development of her next feature project, "The Salad Spinner."
